SUMMARY:Shropshire Scouts – Shooting Competition 2026 (ShropShoot 26)
DESCRIPTION:Disciplines: Air Rifle\, Air Pistol\, Sport Crossbow \nFee: £12.50 per entrant \nDeadline: Teams must register by 11 January and confirm by 16 January. \nAge Groups & Classes (based on age on 11 April 2026): \nJuniors (under 13): J1 (Rifle bench rested)\, J2 (Pistol two-hand)\, J3 (Optional rifle standing) \nSeniors (13–17): S1 (Rifle standing)\, S2 (Pistol one-hand)\, SX (Sport Crossbow) \nAdults (18+): Rifle\, pistol\, and crossbow categories \nCompetition Format \nHalf-day sessions with training available in pistol and crossbow. \nShooters must have prior air rifle experience. \nStandard targets will be used\, 20 shots per match (may be reduced to 15 if needed). \nEquipment may be supplied or competitors may bring approved .177 rifles/pistols or Petron/Jaguar crossbows. \nRules & Restrictions \nIron sights only\, no specialised clothing. \nSafety is paramount: unsafe behaviour or range damage leads to disqualification. \nFootwear with ankle support not allowed. \nOnly flat-headed “wadcutter” pellets for air rifles/pistols. \nCrossbows must use 8mm bolts and 40lbf draw weight. \nScoring & Awards \nJuniors: aggregate = bench-rested rifle + pistol scores \nSeniors & Adults: aggregate = standing rifle + pistol scores \nTeam Competition: Best 4 shooters (must include at least 1 Junior & 1 Senior). \nAwards: \nIndividual medals for top 3 in each discipline + best aggregate (Junior\, Senior\, Adult) \n“Most improved” medals (Junior & Senior\, compared to 2025) \nTeam medals for top 3 teams \nEntry & Contact \nEarly entry recommended (popular event). \nPayment: £12.50 via bank transfer or cheque. \nForms and payments must be submitted within 5 days of entry. \nQueries: John Dohoo\, County Shooting Activity Team Leader \njohn.dohoo@shropshirescouts.org.uk \nMore Details and booking form below: \n📄 Word Download📄 PDF Download
